The 2008 election will be a defining moment for America on the world stage.
Who will we choose to represent us in the global village?
Will we have the courage to step out of our comfort zones and begin to re-imagine our nation as part of something bigger than itself?
Will we use our hallmark American creativity and innovation to re-imagine our roles as members of a delicate and ever-changing global community?
I believe that in this new millennium, our greatness will be measured not by our ability to wage and win wars, but our ability to form and maintain alliances.
I believe that the creation of win-win partnerships will, of necessity, take precedence over the imposition of embargoes and sanctions.
Sweeping change is already taking place. We have chosen to ignore it for too long -- to do what we've always done even though it's no longer working.
Will America rise up to catch up with the change, or will it get left in the dust?
I'm not waiting around to find out. It's time to act. It's time to get organized on a grass roots level and do our civic duty as global citizens. We can't afford not to.
I've decided to head to 'God's Country' (Indiana) to do my part to get the community organizer elected. What will you do?
Join me in one of the battleground states, or in your own neighborhood, through the Neighbor to Neighbor community organizing initiative.
And...
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
